SKWENTNA — Erin Redington was the first musher into Skwentna, and held the lead at the halfway point of the Knik 200 Joe Redington Memorial sled dog race on Saturday evening.
Redington hit the checkpoint at 5:13 p.m.
Second-place Micah Bergerland arrived four minutes later.
Nineteen mushers left the chute on Knik Lake at 10 a.m. Saturday morning to start the race.
The Knik 200 race course sends mushers from Knik to the Yentna Station Roadhouse, and on to Skwentna.
After a layover in Skwentna, teams head back to Knik.
The first team is expected to hit Knik Lake this morning.
