FRANKLIN DAVID REINER

Franklin David Reiner passed away Feb. 4, 2001, at Valley Hospital in Palmer.

Mr. Reiner was born to Nicholas Reiner and Ida Belle Reiner-Tellier on Sept. 26, 1943, in Mansfield, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Coleen Hamilton Reiner of Wasilla; mother, Ida Belle Reiner-Tellier of Grand Junction, Colo.; sons, Utah of Grand Junction, Monty of Battlement Mesa, Benjamin of Grand Junction, and Franklin of Fruita; brothers and sisters, Nick of Sacramento, Calif., John of Folsom, Calif., Chester of Meeker, Colo., Byron of San Jose, Costa Rica, Rock of Bandon, Ore., Faye Gowin of Napa, Idaho, Tresa Sasser of Jacksonville, Fla., Paula Woodland of Van Buren, Mo., Sherry Bochmann of Fruita, Colo., Hope Higgs of Delta, Colo., and Garnet Reiner of Bandon, Ore.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; former wives, Lydia Medina and Donna Meek; and his cats, Smith and Wesson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Reiner, and his youngest brother, Victor Reiner.

Mr. Reiner grew up in Ohio, New Mexico, and lived in Fruita, Colo., for most of his life until he moved in 1990 to Wasilla. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He attended college in Greeley, Colo. Mr. Reiner owned and operated Reiner Drywall and Construction for approximately 20 years.

Mr. Reiner enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. He was in touch with Jesus Christ and a member of Fairview Loop Baptist Church.

His family said: "One of his favorite movies was "The Ballad of Cabel Hogue" with Jason Robards Jr. and the song "Butterfly Mornings. . . Wildflower Afternoons" was a special song to Frank. His feelings for the great outdoors were always evident in his love of wildflowers, sunsets, clouds, little children and kittens."

Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colo., with the Rev. Rex Newkirk officiating. A potluck dinner will follow at Rumors, 152 South Mesa, in Fruita, Colo.

There will also be services held Feb. 17 at the Sunny Knik Chapel in Knik, with Pastor Duane Guisinger officiating at 4 p.m., and refreshments to follow in the fellowship hall.

There will also be a service at Fairview Loop Baptist Church on Feb. 18, with Pastor Tom Hoffman officiating, following the regular 11 o'clock service, with a potluck to follow.

Mr. Reiner's ashes will be scattered at a favorite special monument in his family hunting area out of Grand Junction, Colo., and on private property in Hatcher Pass.
