Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Freddie Samson, 48, died Jan. 6, 2003 at his home.
Services were held at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery, Monday, Jan. 20, with Elder Roderick Chapman doing the dedication.
Mr. Samson was born Aug. 15, 1954, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from High School in Deerpark, N.Y. and attended college in Portland, Ore. Mr. Samson came to Alaska in July of 2001.
Mr. Samson was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
He enjoyed traveling and especially loved Alaska.
Mr. Samson is survived by his sister Marlene Fuentes of California and Sharon Sperling of Connecticut.; nephews Jay Neilson and Chad Gonzales of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Elsie Samson.
Arrangements were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
