Free books offered for Valley kids

You can read them in your seat, you can read them while you eat. You can read them in your bed, you can think them in your head.

Books can be your best-est friend, their stories will never-est end. They’ll be with you when you’re young, they’ll be with you when you’re done.

Teachers have some books to give you, so many titles, at least one will do. Come to the movies to get your book, you’ll surely love the one you took.

Mat-Su Education Association, in cooperation with Valley Cinema, will be giving 200 books to children before showings of “The Lorax” March 3. Books will be given out before each showing of the film on a first-come first-served basis until all the books are gone.

Mat-Su Education Association is the union that represents the nearly 1,200 teachers and other certified employees of the Mat-Su Borough School District. The book giveaway is in celebration of Read Across America week, sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA).

According to the NEA, the stars of “The Lorax” are shining the spotlight on Read Across America.

The MSEA will also distribute free books at the Valley debut of Hunger Games on March 24.
