WASILLA — The Bartlett Golden Bears gave Colony any early scare, but Josh Boyer and the Knights killed any chance Bartlett had to sneak away with the upset.
Boyer, a freshman forward, scored four shorthanded goals to lead Colony to an 8-2 nonconference win over the Knights at the Menard Arena Tuesday.
Boyer’s first shorthanded tally tied the game at 1 midway through the first. He added another early in the second period, and scored a pair of shorthanded goals during a 14-second span in the third.
Jake Elwell, Isaac Vincent, Logan Sanders and Colton Symbol also scored for Colony High.
Bartlett’s Joel Johnson scored just more than a minute into play to take the 1-0 lead. Johnson set up a Cody Bell goal with 3:09 left in the first to give Bartlett the 2-1 advantage. Colony’s final seven goals were unanswered.
Goalies Colton Beebe and Kevin Hale combined to stop 21 shots for the Knights.
