WASILLA — Valley Performing Arts is opening its local rendition of "The Lifespan of a Fact,' a dramatic comedy that's described as a timely portrayal of how information can be presented, situations can be interpreted, and how circumstances can be seen through the window of emotion or the lense of hard fact.
"It’s a small cast of three and has comedy and drama aplenty. The subject matter is timely," VPA Executive Director Garry Forrester said
VPA provided the following description of the upcoming production in a recent press release, "Jim Fingal is a fresh-out-of-Harvard fact checker for a prominent but sinking New York magazine. John D’Agata is a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy—an essay that could save the magazine from collapse. When Jim is assigned to fact check D’Agata’s essay, the two come head to head in a comedic yet gripping battle over facts versus truth."
VPA advises the public to keep in mind that this play contains mature themes, adult language, and discussions regarding victims of suicide.
The Lifespan of a Fact opens January 13 and runs through January 29.
General admission is $19. Senior citizen and student (18 and under) admission is $17.
