Friend’s recovery continues to amaze

To the editor,

Who says there are no such things as Guardian Angels? Clearly Jeff Bara had one sitting on his shoulder, one cold January afternoon, as he was involved in a mid-air collision. The ordinary person would not have survived the fall and impact, but there has never been anything ordinary about our friend, Jeff. He continues to amaze friends as he overcomes each obstacle he has had to face during the recovery process.

At his side the past year has been his wife, Tami. She is an inspiration to all as she put her career on hold so she could devote her life to caring for Jeff and encouraging him to fight through each challenge. Her love and faith, Jeff's determination, and prayers from family and friends have helped with the recovery process and Jeff continues to amaze us each day! God truly had a plan for Jeff and a message for all of us. When feeling discouraged with our daily struggles that occur in our lives, have faith, determination, and remember there is no problem too big for God.

Tami has since had to return to work, leaving Jeff with a home care provider that is not covered by insurance. A fundraiser is being conducted on Saturday, March 26, at Raven Hall at the Alaska State Fairgrounds to help the Bara’s with medical costs. The event starts at 5:30, with a no host bar, dinner at 6:30, followed by live and silent auction events. If you would like to buy tickets, contact bara.fundraiser@gmail.com. A medical fund has been set up at Wells Fargo at the account #8995199455. We hope you will be able to attend.
