Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Fritz J. Christie, 53, died June 27, 2001 in Phoenix, after a brief illness. His wife, Kiddy Christie, was by his side.
Dr. Christie was born March 3, 1948 in Minneapolis, and moved to Wasilla in 1982.
Dr. Christie worked as a senior geophysicist for Exxon and ARCO corporations in Anchorage until 1994. In 1996, he entered medical school at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, graduating in May 2000 in the top 10 percent of his class. In June 2000, Dr. Christie accepted a medical residency at Maricopa County Hospital in pediatrics-internal medicine.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Kiddy Christie of Wasilla; mother, Anne Christie; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Shirley Christie, all of Salem, Ore.; and sister, Barbara Christie of New Jersey. His father, L.J. Christie, preceded him
in death.
No services were held.
