What do you see when you are at school, church or the grocery store? Most people would say they see girls and boys with their phone a few inches from their face texting.
Kids will ask their parents for a cell phone because they know their parents want them to be safe, but it’s obvious that most teenagers use cell phones to text. Of all the teens that have cell phones, half of them only use phones to text. Think of how much time and money is wasted because of kids’ texting. Cell phone bills can cost a lot of money and texting costs more than a regular cell phone.
When kids are texting most of the time they are texting someone who lives just down the road. Many teenagers just sit around and text for hours. They are too busy having a three-hour conversation that they do not even think about doing school work, chores, spending time with family and other activities that could occupy their day.
Since I am 12 years old and have been part of groups designed for teens, I have found out that it is very hectic when the kids in the group are texting instead of listening.
The adults are trying to explain something that is important and every kid in the group is texting. Many teenagers text during school and no one finds out, and as they are doing that they aren’t learning anything.
Don’t parents want their kids to learn and grow?
Teenagers shouldn’t have cell phones because they will use it in a way that is a waste of time and money.
