BUTTE — Alaska State Troopers say they took down a marijuana growing operation Thursday.
The grow contained 183 plants, troopers say, and was found at a home on the Old Glenn Highway. Troopers estimate the dry weight of the plants at 10.6 pounds.
In addition to the marijuana, troopers seized $2,826 in cash and various growing equipment. They arrested Wesley R. Spence, 43, and charged him with fourth-degree drug misconduct.
Spence was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $20,000 bail. According to jail records, he stayed there only a few hours at most. He was bailed out by Thursday afternoon.

WASILLA — A 911-hangup led to a home just outside Wasilla where a woman was arrested for injuring someone with a knife.
According to an Alaska State Trooper press release, the 911 call was disconnected at around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers were sent to make sure everyone at the home near Mile 47 Parks Highway was OK.
They weren’t.
Troopers say the person wounded with the knife was treated on scene rather than taken to the hospital.
The alleged attacker, Kellie R. Shaw, 41, of Wasilla, was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial without bail, charged with assault. Jail records Thursday afternoon showed she was still there.
