From the blotter: Drunk man enters wrong house

TALKEETNA — A man who thought he’d entered a friend’s house wound up staring down a gun Friday.

Alaska State Troopers say they responded to a home on Shade Tree Lane at 1:30 a.m. for “a report of a male intruder being held at gunpoint by the property owner.”

Troopers say they talked to both the intruder — Herbert Theodore, 44, of Talkeetna — and the property owner Dean Hollenbeck, 52, of Talkeetna.

Hollenbeck told troopers he was asleep and thought at first that the noise that woke him up was his dog playing. He told troopers he confronted Theodore with a pistol and waited for help to arrive.

“Investigation further revealed that Theodore was intoxicated and thought he was at a friend’s residence,” according to a trooper press release. Theodore was issued a summons for trespassing.

Driver hits hydrant, flees

WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say a Wasilla woman ran into a fence and a fire hydrant Friday but didn’t report it. Troopers say they got word of the accident at 7:12 a.m. They say Laura L. Gratias, 25, of Wasilla, was driving a blue 1990 Honda Civic near Nelson Road and Gray Bark Drive when she veered off the road, hitting the fence and the fire hydrant.

“Gratias fled the scene in her vehicle without reporting the collision to law enforcement,” troopers said in a press release.

Troopers are charging her with hit and run, criminal mischief, failing to report an accident and negligent driving.

Loud music lands man in jail

WILLOW — A man asked to turn his music down wound up in jail after he threatened to injure the complainants.

Alaska State Troopers say that at 1:23 a.m. they were called to the Willow Creek Campground where they say Joseph Stanger, 56, of Willow, was “intoxicated and creating a disturbance by yelling and threatening to injure other people camping and fishing at Willow Creek.”

According to a press release, Stanger got confrontational after his neighbors at the campsite asked him to turn his music down.

Stanger was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $750 bail and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct.
