FROM THE BLOTTER: Police say school bus left accident scene

PALMER — Police are looking for the bus driver who sideswiped a commercial van last week.

According to a Palmer police press statement, on Wednesday a 42-year-old Anchorage man called to report he’d been driving a 2002 International van when a First Student school bus sideswiped him but didn’t stop to exchange information.

As of Monday, Palmer Police Lieutenant Tom Remaley said he was pretty sure police hadn’t found the bus driver yet. But they’re still looking.

“They didn’t have a bus number or something like that so I don’t think we have any additional information,” Remaley said. “The case is not closed.”

No charges in road rage incident

WASILLA — Police say an argument between motorists at Parks Highway and Main Street led to one man flashing a gun, but neither man going to jail.

According to a Wasilla Police Department press release, at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday officers were called to Parks Highway and Main Street.

The story goes like this: The drivers were arguing. One of them got out to threaten the other one. The one still in his car pulled out a handgun. Both subjects made more threats but ultimately left the scene.

Police say they tracked down the motorist with the gun. They conducted a complete investigation. And they don’t plan, at this time, to file any charges.
