PALMER — Alaska State Troopers are looking for a big pickup with a bad driver that tried to run a much smaller car off the highway Tuesday.
According to a trooper press statement, the report of the black four-door pickup with dark-tinted windows, lifted suspension and tires large enough to protrude beyond the rear fenders came in at 4:11 p.m.
A 49-year-old Wasilla man driving a Ford Fusion said the pickup made an improper lane change and crashed into him near the interchange of the Parks and Glenn highways.
The Fusion driver, troopers report, thought the pickup was going to run him off of the road and took evasive action.
“Following the collision, the suspect vehicle fled the scene northbound on Trunk Road, passing several more cars on blind curves, at high rates of speed, and in no passing zones,” troopers report.
Anyone with information is asked to call troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
