Man hurls log at trooper
BIG LAKE — Alaska State Troopers say a Wasilla man threw a log at them when they came to investigate reports he’d been breaking into homes and threatening the people inside.
Troopers say multiple reports of the burglaries in the Butler Subdivision came in on Friday. Callers said the burglar made threats and also broke property in one of the homes. Troopers responded at about 11:30 p.m.
Shortly after arriving there, troopers say, they located James Paul Crocker, 30, of Wasilla. They say Crocker tossed a log at one of the troopers’ vehicles and that he matched the description the victims gave.
Crocker was arrested and charged with burglary, assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $15,000 bail. Jail records Monday morning showed he was still there.
