MAT-SU — There’s a new way to read the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman on your favorite device.
In addition to the printed version of the Frontiersman, now subscribers also can flip through a digital version of the paper that looks exactly like the printed version, minus the advertising inserts.
You can read it online on your computer, your tablet or your smartphone using an easy-to-read PDF viewer at frontiersman.com. Instead of searching under various tabs — like News, Opinion and Sports — for a story you saw in the print edition, you can just flip to the page in the e-edition and read it online.
This version of the Frontiersman also includes the ads. And, if you like what you see, click the ad and navigate to that business’s website.
“The website will continue to offer more photos, galleries and calendar information than what we print in each issue,” said managing editor Heather A. Resz. “But now readers have a way to enjoy the ease of reading the printed version of the Frontiersman anywhere in the world.”
This feature will be free for the next two months. After that, the e-edition service will be included with readers’ subscriptions. Past issues will be archived online, too, and the viewer includes a search function that allows for key word searches of the current issue, or the whole e-edition archive, Resz said.
As an added feature, e-edition subscribers also will receive email notification when each new edition is available.
“E-editions mean no more waiting for delivery for many of our valued readers. It also means greater exposure for our valued advertisers,” said Frontiersman Publisher Mark Kelsey. “We are excited about launching this version of your hometown newspaper.”
Along with all the news on the e-edition, the Frontiersman also will offer e-Market, a monthly coupon, savings and information booklet emailed directly to your “mailbox.” The e-Market includes savings around the Valley. Any reader can receive the e-Market just by signing up.
