A Willow woman is on her way to Hawaii next month, for no other reason than she reads the Frontiersman.
Alice Dautrich got the phone call last week that she was the big winner in the Hawaii Getaway package offered by the Frontiersman. During the first part of February, she is headed from the 49th state to the 50th state for some much-needed sun and fun.
"When they called, I thought they were saying I was a $100 weekly winner," Dautrich said. "I didn't think I'd win the trip."
She did just that, and she's headed to Oahu as a result. While weekly winners received $100, Dautrich was rewarded for playing each week by winning the vacation package. She said she's not sure if her husband will be able to make the trip or not, but "I've got a girlfriend who can go, just in case."
Dautrich said she's never been to Hawaii before -- and going on the Frontiersman's dime is as good a reason as any to make the trip for the first time.
As part of the contest, readers of the Frontiersman readers had to fill out an entry form and drop it off at one of the many participating businesses. A drawing was held for the $100 weekly winners. The final drawing was held last week for the trip to Hawaii.
