GERALD (JERRY) A. HANN

Palmer resident Gerald (Jerry) Alan Hann, 62, died of cancer at his home June 13, 2005. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., with a funeral service at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Bogard Road in Wasilla. Bishop Garth Grover will officiate. Burial will follow at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.

Mr. Hann was born March 17, 1943, in San Pedro, Calif. He graduated from Morningside High School in Inglewood, Calif., and continued his education, earning a bachelor's degree in architecture in 1976 from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

After graduating, he moved to Palmer in June 1976. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a missionary to the Central Atlantic states, a bishop, stake president and a temple worker. He was a member of the planning commission for the city of Palmer. He coached for the MYAC basketball and Little League football organizations and enjoyed sports, his church and family.

His infant daughter, Bethany Hann, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara Hann of Palmer; son, David Hann and his wife, Callie, of Homedale, Idaho; daughter, Dari Wahlquist and her husband, Christian, of King George, Va.; son, Jared Hann and his wife, Kaylynn, currently on active duty for the U.S. Air Force; daughter, Tayleigh Hann of Palmer, currently serving as a missionary for the LDS church in California; brothers, Paul Hann of New Mexico and Harold Hann of Texas; two grandchildren of Homedale, Idaho and four grandchildren of King George, Va., also survive him.

Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
