MAT-SU — Motorists can access current driving conditions via Twitter, Facebook and the website 511.alaska.gov, according to an announcement from the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.
On Twitter, follow @alaska511 to receive statewide driving condition updates. More specific regional data is available at ak511_Anchorage, ak511_Fairbanks, ak511_Southeast, ak511_Peninsula, ak511_Mat-Su, ak511_Tok, ak511_Tazlina, ak511_Valdez, ak511_Dalton and ak511_Denali.
People will receive updates about very difficult and/or hazardous driving conditions and incidents. Find current driving conditions on the Alaska 511 Facebook page.
Before getting on the road, drivers are encouraged to call 511 or consult one of the above electronic updates for conditions.
