Colony won its fourth girls basketball title in school history with a 48-42 overtime win over Chugiak Saturday night at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.
The Knights made nine of 10 free throws in the overtime period to pull away.
Colony's Kara Larson stole the ball with 2.8 seconds left to force overtime.
Sarah Watzke led all scorers with 22 points for the Mustangs. Alex Coon led the Knights with 17 points.
Cook Inlet Conference champion Chugiak is the top-seeded team in the tournament….No. 2 seed Colony is playing in its first state final since 2000….Chugiak last reached the finals in 2003, when the Mustangs beat Wasilla for their third girls' state title….The Knights have also won three state crowns in school history, the last coming in 1998, when the Knights defeated Chugiak for the second of their back-to-back girls' championships….The Knights also won the title in 1995….Northern Lights Conference champion Colony reached the finals with wins over Dimond and Palmer, while the Mustangs defeated Lathrop and defending champion Wasilla.
