The Glenn Highway will be fully closed from 11:00 pm to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday overnights as part of the Glenn Highway rehabilitation and replacement of the existing Kings River Bridge and realign the Glenn Highway to match new bridge location, at milepost 66-67.2.
The new bridge is needed because the existing bridge structure is nearing the end of its useful life and is in deteriorating condition.
It will remain open on Friday and Saturday nights, and crews will be working from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., though sometimes may work as late as late as 11 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
Travelers can expect pilot car operations with an expected 30-minute wait time while working from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm, and again from 5:00 am to 7:00 am.
Drivers are asked to drive with caution over gravel roads as there is also no center stripe. Also expect changes in conditions and road patterns through the area. There will also be a reduced speed limit of 45 mph through the work zone.
