Glenn Louis Brown, age 86, passed away on Feb. 15, 2021, in Palmer, AK.

Arriving on January 8, 1935, he was the fourth of six children born to Orville and Thelma (Amburs) Brown in Leavenworth, WA. After high school graduation in 1953, he enlisted in the army during the Korean conflict. While in the army he converted to The Church of Jesus Christ-of Latter-Day Saints, of which he has been an active member ever since. Shortly after joining the church, he served a 2-year proselytizing mission to Mexico. He attended BYU, the Mayo Clinic, and University of Oklahoma, where he studied to be a physical therapist and physician’s assistant.

He married Lynne Anderson on April 30, 1964, in Manti, Utah. In 1974 he packed up his 4 kids and pregnant wife and drove to Alaska. He practiced in the Anchorage area as a physician assistant from 1974 – 1987, with a three-year adventure to Dutch Harbor to be the medical director at the clinic. In 1987 he set up a private physical therapy and medical practice in Chugiak, with additional PT clinics to follow.

He moved to Fairbanks in 1999 to be near grandkids, and shortly after, he and his wife served 2 missions for their church in South America. In 2012 they bought land in Palmer and built their retirement garage with a little apartment where they have lived since.

Woodworking projects, flying, and music were some of his many interests. He secured gigs for his family band at church parties and the mall at Christmastime.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Thelma Brown, and siblings, Orville Jr., Robert, and Leila.

Glenn is survived by his spouse, Lynne, of Palmer, AK; his children, Amber (Lance) of Fairbanks, AK; Andy of Tampa, FL; Stefani (Ben) of Fairbanks, AK; Suzy (Roger) of Eagle River, AK; and Robert (Jessica) of Palmer, AK; 25 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth of Lake Stevens, WA, and Keith of Tubac, AZ, as well as numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 9475 E Bogard Rd., Palmer, AK on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1:00 pm. There will be a viewing from 11:30 am – 12:45 pm.

His children are forever grateful for the role that he played as the leader of their band.
