PALMER - The Glenn Highway near the Alaska State Fairgrounds has reopened after a head-on crash closed it Friday morning.
Cmdr. Tom Remaley with the Palmer Police Department said as of 11:15 a.m. that one car had been loaded on a trailer, one driver driven to the hospital, and the second car was ready to be towed.
"One of our officers was right behind one of the vehicles southbound on the Glenn and it looks like the northbound lost traction and slid around and they hit head on," Remaley said.
He urged caution on slick winter roads.
"That's one of the things that drivers have to be careful of because not only are the roads extremely slick but they're not completely smooth," Remaley said. "If they start bouncing over things they're just going to lose control."
He said people should just slow down.
"They don't have to drive 25 but they need to slow down," Remaley said.
