To the editor:
I would like to take a moment in honor of Nurses Week to convey my sincere appreciation to the fine men and women of this profession.
I have always had the highest appreciation for nurses and the work they do in the health care world. I worked for many years at hospitals in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley and know firsthand that they are the heart and soul of a hospital or medical facility. The amount of hours, time and dedication that is conveyed to the patient and family members can’t be expressed enough except to say they are true angels.
Over the years, our family has received nursing care for new additions to our family, care for injuries in sports or accidents and care for our parents at the end of life that required Hospice. I can’t say enough about the kindness and professional care we encountered over the years for our family, and for that I am truly grateful.
In recognition of Nurses Week, I hope you will join me in thanking our nursing professionals for their unwavering support and care for our families and friends. For all the great nurses I have had the privilege of working with over the years, I say God bless you and thank you for your service.
