Early risers may have noticed today’s edition in their home delivery boxes much earlier than usual. Same goes for copies of the Frontiersman on newsstands and in our coin racks around the Valley.
After a year or so of experimenting with afternoon distribution of the newspaper, we return today to morning delivery. Subscribers will have all of our great local news and sports coverage at their doors by 5:30 a.m. every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
The change is all about customer service. While there were benefits to afternoon delivery, our readers and advertisers expressed a consistent preference for a morning paper.
You spoke. We listened.
As a business serving the local community, we recognize the need to be responsive to our customers. And we are happy to rise and shine with you again as the Valley’s only source of comprehensive local news.
This is especially important with regard to weekend sales from our advertisers. The late Friday delivery meant information about special offers sometimes wasn’t reaching readers until hours after sales had started.
Serving our readers and advertisers is our bread and butter. So when neither benefits from a decision we make, we are not bashful about revisiting that decision.
The change in delivery times will bring additional benefit to Frontiersman readers in the Talkeetna area. Instead of distributing just the Sunday edition to racks and dealers there, as has been the case since May, the change in delivery times will allow all three editions to be distributed in the northern Susitna Valley.
As always, frontiersman.com remains available to everyone, without charge, for access to all the local news 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Change in print times also will mean content will be updated on the website the night prior to publication. For example, the content in the Friday print edition will be posted Thursday night around 10 p.m.
If you’ve been considering home delivery of the Frontiersman, but did not find afternoon distribution to be convenient, there’s never been a better time to become a subscriber. Through the end of December, to mark the return to morning delivery, we have our best subscription deal of the year in place.
