When are politicians and bureaucrats going to learn to budget? Not as long as they can count on voters to raise their own taxes with bonds.
There should be a formula for where money received from taxes goes. This allotment is all they have and they should stay within the budget. I am sure they would if they had to actually work for it.
Not long ago, they funded a special election with our money and passed tax-raising bonds to build two schools, both of which were never built; instead they built in locations other than where voted on.
I personally called and offered to talk about land I own that is flat, good ground on the edge of a large subdivision at the end of a paved road. That would have saved a bunch of kids a long bus ride and no one at the borough or school district wanted to talk to me.
The borough tells me my mill rate, but when I do the math on my value and what I pay, it is about 75 percent more.
