WASILLA — Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s press secretary, Matt Shuckerow, is leaving the administration.

“I wish Press Secretary Matt Shuckerow all the best as he moves on to new endeavors later this month. He has proven to be an invaluable member of my team, respected for his strong work ethic and commitment to serving Alaskans. I thank him for his service to the state,” Dunleavy wrote on Twitter Thursday evening.

Shuckerow is a lifelong Alaskan, according to his bio on the governor’s website, and was born on Kodiak Island. Shuckerow grew up in Anchorage. In the past, Shuckerow has served as a communications and spokesperson for Sen. Dan Sullivan, communications director for Rep. Don Young and press secretary for Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
