Grand jury indicts 13 on drug charges

PALMER -- A Palmer grand jury has indicted 17 people -- including 13 Valley residents -- on various drug charges.

The indictments were returned last week. Alaska State Trooper Sgt. Pat Davis said the arrests were all part of a nine-month investigation by several law enforcement agencies.

The charges are for manufacturing controlled substances with intent to deliver.

Those indicted include Johnny A. Beauregard, 60, of Palmer, three counts of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance (MICS) and three counts of fourth-degree MICS; Sally Beauregard, 41, of Palmer, two counts of second-degree MICS and one count of fourth-degree MICS; Melissa Bradley, 23, of Anchorage, two counts of second-degree MICS, four counts of third-degree MICS and one count of fourth-degree MICS; Phyllis Denny, 41, of Palmer, six counts of third-degree MICS; Lance Dixon, 32, of Wasilla, five counts of second-degree MICS; and Carl Farwell, 25, of Wasilla, four counts of second-degree MICS.

Also indicted were Lacy J. Hermon, 19, of Palmer, two counts of third-degree MICS; David Jacques, 46, of Wasilla, two counts of second-degree MICS; Cindi B. Jacques, 46, four counts of second-degree MICS and two counts of fourth-degree MICS; Jerry George Jefford, 44, of Wasilla, one count of second-degree MICS; David E. Nelson, 25, of Palmer, four counts of third-degree MICS; Laverne R. Nelson III, five counts of third-degree MICS and one count of fifth-degree MICS; and Christian Newman, 22, of Anchorage, four counts of third-degree MICS.

Indictments also were returned against Kenneth W. Rawson, 42, of Big Lake, three counts of second-degree MICS, one count of third-degree MICS and one count of reckless endangerment; Heather R. Sanford, 23, of Big Lake, four counts of third-degree MICS, one count of fourth-degree MICS; Justin J. Showalter, 22, of Wasilla, three counts of third-degree MICS; Darla J. Weaver, 42, of Big Lake, three counts of second-degree MICS, one count of third-degree MICS and one count of reckless endangerment.

The Mat-Su Drug Team was aided in the investigation by Alaska State Troopers, Wasilla Police Department, Palmer Police Department, Anchorage Police Department, The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, U.S. Marshal, and the National guard Counter Drug Support unit.
