Greg Weaver

1970-2023

Born August 1, 1970 to Pam and Greg Weaver, Greg grew up in Chugiak, Alaska.

We have many fond family memories with Greg (aka G2 or Greggity) of camping trips, hunting camp in the Fall, snagging salmon, sledding parties and BBQs with friends and neighbors, many activities with the other Chugiak Fire Dept families, vacationing to New Hampshire and Florida with extended family, and sharing family time together around the dinner table.

Greg, a true Alaskan, loved adventuring on any dirt bike, snowmachine, or 3-wheeler that he, his dad, and his buddies managed to keep running.

Greg graduated from Chugiak High School in 1988, then served in the Marines, before beginning his civilian career which included roles as a pipe fitter and construction worker taking him to remote projects all over Alaska and on the Slope.

He was a lifelong Alaskan with a huge heart and an unmatched sense of wit & humor. He was his parent’s first born, an uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend to so many.

Most importantly, Greg was a proud father to his amazing sons Adam (20) & Wyatt (18) Weaver who he loved relentlessly. We see all the best of Greg in his boys and pray they always feel his endless love and support cheering them on as they begin to navigate life in his absence.

30 years ago, Greg defied all odds narrowly surviving a horrific car accident that damaged every organ in his body. Yesterday, as we began planning his funeral, Mom, Dad, and I called his operating room nurse Marti, from that fateful day, who performed CPR that brought him back to life. We thanked her for playing a role in giving us 30 more years with Greg.

He was looking forward to his next life chapter preparing to build a new home this coming summer when his heart stopped unexpectedly.

Greg is survived by his parents Pam and Greg Weaver, sons Adam and Wyatt Weaver, his former wife Vivian, sister Jill Weaver, nieces Kaley and Bella, nephews Jesse and Rocco, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and precious friends.

We already miss him terribly, rejoice that he is in Heaven, and look forward to seeing him again someday.

His service will be Saturday, May 13th @ 5p w/reception to follow @ Bridge of Hope Church in Peters Creek, Alaska. We invite all that knew Greg to come celebrate his life with us.

On behalf of my parents, Pam & Greg 1, Greg’s sons Adam & Wyatt, and myself (sister Jill) we invite all who knew Greg to come share memories and celebrate his life together.
