Gregory Mark Beal, longtime Alaskan resident, died at his home with his wife and family by his side on May 23, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Greg is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ginger; their four children, Tara Clark, Troy Beal, Toby Beal, and Todd Beal; their childrens’ spouses, Ryan, Lora, Stacey, and Carmon; and their nine grandchildren, Hanna, Sara, Taylor, Wyatt, Tucker, Hudson, Tommy, Travis and Aleya.
Greg was born in American Fort. Utah, to Floyd and Helen Beal on March 21, 1956. Greg had three siblings, Dan Beal, Treasa Garland, and Terry Beal. In 1956, his family moved from Utah to Alaska. They settled and made their home in the Mat-Su Valley.
Greg attended grade school and high school in Palmer. He loved sports and played high school basketball. After graduating in 1970, he went to Moses Lake Community College on a basketball scholarship for one year. When he came home in the spring of 1971, he proposed to his high school sweetheart, Ginger Brown, and they were married on June 11th, 1971.
Greg went into the Ironworkers Local 751, got his journeyman certificate, and worked as an Ironworker for 17 years. He later went into the Insurance business and worked as a local agent at Beal & Associates for 35 years before his illness forced him to retire.
Greg loved working in his yard and tinkering on all kinds of projects in his garage. Greg was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and friend. He was a spiritual man who was actively involved with many of the Southern Baptist Churches in the Valley. His personal relationship with Jesus Christ gave him a love for all people and a desire to encourage his loved ones and his extensive church family to stay close to God and his teachings.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 4 pm on June 19, 2021, at the Fairview Loop Baptist Church located at 3118 West Fairview Loop, Wasilla, Alaska 99654. Pastor Tom Hoffman will officiate.
