Group fair ticket deadline is today

PALMER — Today is the deadline to buy Alaska State Fair group tickets.

It's the last chance for groups and businesses to save time and money by ordering fair admission or carnival tickets before the fair.

Buying daily passes early saves fair-goers $2 for each adult ticket and $1 for seniors and youth at a price of $6, $4 and $4, respectively. A minimum of 25 tickets — in any age combination — is required to receive discount prices on daily fair admission orders.

Multi-day admission passes save buyers more than half of the price when purchased early. No minimum order number is required to reap a 33-percent savings for three-day passes and 55 percent savings for season passes.

Fair-goers have until Aug. 23 at CARRS TIX and 2 GO Tesoro Alaska outlets to get this discount.

Sheets of 18 carnival ride coupons are $3 less than the normal $15 price and also do not require a minimum purchase. And for those who want to avoid waiting in a line in the parking lots, add a daily parking pass to the group order form. Prices are $4 for cars and trucks and $8 for motor homes.

Group ticket orders must be faxed, e-mailed, hand delivered or postmarked by Friday, Aug. 10, at 4 p.m. For additional information, people should call (907) 745-4827 or 1-800-850-FAIR, or visit the Alaska State Fair Web site at www.alaskastatefair.org.

The Alaska State Fair, "2001: A Moose Odyssey," will run daily in Palmer from Aug. 24 to Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
