Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

The Rev. Henry Guinotte and Martha Marling were married June 7, 1953, at Wheeler Memorial Presbyterian Church in Omaha, Neb.
Henry served churches in Nebraska and Iowa before moving to Palmer in 1972 to serve United Protestant Church. Henry retired in 1990, and they remained in Palmer in his retirement. He served on Palmer city council and as mayor. He also was director of the Palmer Food Bank for many years.
Martha was always church secretary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She liked to entertain visitors and folks passing through Palmer for the church.
They have a daughter, Diana (Vince) Ibarra. Diana and Vince have two sons, Mikel and Kepa, and a daughter, Eisels. The Guinottes also have a son, Henry J. (Hank) (Noel), and they have two daughters, Katy and Lauren.
Martha and Henry will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception at United Protestant Church in Palmer from 7 to 9 p.m., June 7. There will be a short musical program in the sanctuary at 7:15 p.m.
Friends are invited to come and help celebrate this occasion.
