MAT-SU — Although the wind is calm now, the National Weather Service has issued a forecast for wind and rain to develop overnight.
Gusts of 45 mph are expected in the Knik River valley after midnight, the weather service says.
Rain is expected to continue Tuesday with southeast wind blowing at 35 to 40 mph and gusts to 55 mph though mid-afternoon.
Rain is expected to continue Tuesday night, with winds quieting to 10 to 15 mph.
Rain continues in the forecast through Friday.
