Hackett, Peterson earn top rodeo honors

Scooter Hackett and Heather Peterson were the top winners in the annual Alaska State Fair Rodeo held at the Palmer Fairgrounds Aug. 30-31.

Hackett garnered 75 points to win the All-Around Cowboy award. He and younger brother Kenny each scored a 162 in the bull riding competition to notch a first-place tie.

Scooter Hackett also teamed with Danielle Gallagher to win the ribbon roping competition.

Peterson scored 70 points to win the All-Around Cowgirl award. She was also the top money winner in the competition.

Peterson won the ladies breakaway roping with a time of 15.382 seconds.
