WASILLA— There’s a wide array of Halloween themed events going on across the Mat-Su Valley. Below is a list of events ranging from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2.
Spook-tacular Shopping Event
The Palmer Train Depot will be decked out with Halloween decorations with numerous local vendors selling assorted goods Oct. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Families and their pets are encouraged to show up in costumes are encouraged. There will be a gift basket giveaway along with door prizes. There will also be onsite giftwrapping, face painting, and a scary hair booth.
Swanson Elementary’s Halloween Carnival
Swanson Elementary School is hosting their annual Halloween Carnival Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. inside the school. This event is open to the public and Palmer Fire and Rescue freighters will be onsite. There will be games throughout the building, decorated spooky halls, candy, a crafts table, and food available for purchase.
Pumpkin Patch at the Menard Sports Center
There will be a Pumpkin Patch event at the Menard Sports Center Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission for children 12 and under is $4 per child, and children under two are free. This safe, family friendly event will have games a “Glow Show,” prizes and more. Attendees can register their families ahead of time at kcalaska.com.
Haunted Barn at the Williams Reindeer Farm
The Williams Reindeer Farm is hosting a Haunted Barn event at the farm Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is recommended for children ages 12 and up. There will be popcorn and hot chocolate for sale, and attendees can warm up around a roaring fire. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission is $7 per person.
Halloween Open House at multiple Valley fire stations
