To the editor,
Given our passion for trails, parks and recreation in the Mat-Su Valley it was inevitable that I would meet Vern Halter. Since I’ve know him, Vern has been a hardworking trail volunteer by spending many snowmachine hours grooming winter trails and a leader in community trail and recreation issues. As a Borough Assembly member the last six years, Vern has been the leading advocate for proper funding of Valley snowmachine trails. Vern voted to support a Borough partnership with the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation to help build and enhance local trails and parks. As a small business owner and past member of the Mat Su Convention and Visitors Bureau, Vern understands the economic value recreation has to local businesses.
The Mat-Su Valley is the best place to live in the world because of the outstanding beauty and bountiful wildlife of its mountains, lakes and streams. Please vote on October 6th for the one candidate that truly appreciates these qualities. Vote Vern Halter for Borough mayor on October 6th.
