Halter will bring even-handed approach

To the editor,

The choice for Mayor in the upcoming MatSu Borough election is clear. Current Mayor Larry DeVilbiss has done his best to maintain a "good ole boy" club on the various boards, commissions, and committees within the Borough. The lack of diversity of his appointments is stunning. Even when presented with the opportunity to appoint well-qualified women to some of these positions, he opts for the less qualified but perhaps more tractable man. DeVilbiss has also done his best to take control away from local communities and demolish any form of planning. Voters need to stop the DeVilbiss trajectory and vote for someone who can and will bring a more balanced and even-handed approach. Please join me in voting for Vern Halter on October 6th.
