Hams come to aid of a ham

To the editor:

There being so much bad news these days, I would like to share some good news involving ham radio operators. It provides such an uplift of feelings to know that there are folks out there willing to share their time and expertise to help this “little old lady.”

Some months ago three operators inspected my station, made upgrades and provided a list of future needs. On Sept. 26, an antenna party was held accomplishing replacement of a portion of tower, adding a new rotor and re-establishing existing HF and 2-meter beams. This difficult task was professionally accomplished by amateurs: KL7EB, KL7EC, KL7ES, KL7HFQ, KL7HHO, KL7LL, KL7MD, KL7SP, KL7VE, KL1XM, NL7TZ and N9RNL.

At this time I can think of no way to truly express my appreciation other than praise each member from the Anchorage and Mat-Su Radio Clubs and send an amateur 73 and 88 to each.
