HARRY DEVERE McKECHNIE

Harry DeVere McKechnie, (Horatio), 92, a resident of Napa Valley, Calif., for 11 years, died Dec. 19, 2001.

He was born April 29, 1909, in Minnesota. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the Marine Corps and reached the rank of lieutenant colonel.

In 1934 he married Barbara Ruth (Bobbie) Emery and the two celebrated 67 years of marriage. The loving couple enjoyed traveling between Alaska, where his family lives in the Matanuska Valley and Mexico.

Mr. McKechnie established his own business in 1950 -- Home Goods Distributors, catering to the veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his daughter, Loma Duff; son, Douglas McKechnie; granddaughters, Lori Hennigh, Lisa Khaiavi and Micah McKechnie; and great-granddaughters, Alia Khaiavi and Lani Hennigh. He is also survivedby brother, Angus McKechnie of Palm Springs, Calif., and sister, Lorraine Hermon of Palmer.

A memorial service will be Jan. 10, 2002, at the California Veteran's Home Chapel, Yountville, Calif.
