Again the Mat-Su Borough bureaucracy is trying to pre-empt private enterprise. “If the Borough will only put up (supply your own figure) millions of dollars we will have a skiers utopia at Hatcher Pass” (which we don’t need!). They have two problems: (1)The taxpayers don’t want to fund what is possibly a white elephant, and (2) If it were a feasible project, private enterprise would already have done it. (That is, if the Borough bureaucracy would get out of the way.)
It seems some employees of the Borough believe the taxpayers are their servants instead of the other way around.
