The Houston hockey squad went 3-0 on its final road trip of the first half of the season last week.
The Hawks stormed past Nikiski 10-0, Skyview 4-3 and Kenai 5-2 during a weekend trip to the Kenai Peninsula.
The toughest match of the trip came against Skyview where Houston needed overtime to beat the Panthers.
Rick Morlack took a pass from Jake Williams and scored with just less than five minutes to go in the overtime period to defeat the Panthers.
Wade Williams led the Hawks with four goals and four assists during the trip. Jamie Bennett notched two goals and five assists. Morlock scored four goals. Jimmy Estes and Jake Williams each posted three goals.
Fifteen different Hawks figured into the scoring on the road trip.
Paul Sutton Jones stopped 13 shots to notch the shutout against Nikiski.
Matt Dirschner manned the Houston net against Skyview and Kenai, registering 40 saves against Skyview and stopping 25 shots against Kenai.
The Hawks will now enjoy time off during the winter break before heading into the second half of the season. Houston is looking to win its third consecutive small school state championship.
