The Houston Hawks are headed back to the state title game. Houston clinched its spot in the final game for the third time since 2019 with a 40-0 win over Barrow Friday night at Houston High School.

The Hawks won their first state football title in school history in 2019, and finished as the runner-up to rival Redington last year.

Mark Kudryn led the Hawks with 213 yards rushing and four touchdowns in the win. Kudryn also scored on defense, returning an interception 55 yards for a touchdown.

Noah Whitted connected with Brandon Hina on a 24-yard touchdown pass.

The Hawks defense held Barrow to 22 total yards, including 20 yards on 33 carries.

Houston now moves forward to play Homer Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Service High in Anchorage in the Division III championship game. The Hawks improved to 8-0 overall with the win. Houston also notched its fifth shutout of the season. The Hawks have outscored opponents 336-29 this year.

Homer, now 7-2, moved into the title game with a 54-20 semifinal win over Nikiski.
