WASILLA — In a game that didn’t feature a whole lot of offense, host Kodiak managed to put together a pair of scoring drives to score a 14-0 nonconference win over Houston Friday night in Kodiak.
Joel Francisco caught a short Andreas Carros touchdown past in the first and Kaleb Finley plunged in from 2 yards out late in the game to allow the medium schools Bears to get past the small schools Hawks.
The teams only had eight first downs each in the game. Houston finished with 108 total yards, just less than Kodiak’s total of 132. The defenses combined to pick off six passes.
The Hawks tossed four interceptions in the game.
Ben Pelesasa led Houston with 40 yards on 15 carries.
Houston returns home to face Eagle River, another team from the medium schools Northern Lights Conference, Friday at 7 p.m. at Houston High.
