Hawks crush Glennallen

WASILLA -- The Houston Hawks keep stepping closer and closer to their third consecutive state title.

The Hawks manhandled Greatland Conference foe Glennallen in a pair of games at the Brett Ice Arena over the weekend.

Houston skated past the Panthers 12-0 on Friday and 11-2 on Saturday.

Houston improved to 13-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Greatland Conference play.

The Hawks did not allow a shot on goal until midway through the second period on Friday. Glennallen was only able to muster a pair of shots in the Houston shutout. Houston netminders Matt Dischner and Paul Sutton-Jones combined for the shutout.

Houston scored a pair of goals just six seconds a part in the opening moments of Friday's contest. Henry Orth took a pass from Jacob Collins and put the puck into the Panther net. Larry Kincaid added another Houston goal immediately after the ensuing faceoff.

Devon Styer notched a hat trick during the first contest to lead Houston. Wade Williams and Jake Williams assisted on each of Styer's goals.

Wade Williams added a hat trick the Hawks the following night.
