WASILLA — Senior Reed Humphreys provided the spark, and helped lead Division II Houston to a win over a Division I squad.
Humphreys scored twice during Houston’s 4-2 victory over Bartlett Saturday, the final day of the End of the Road tournament in Houston. Tyler Chivers and Hayden Chivers also scored for the Hawks in the victory.
Houston finished 1-1-1 and placed second in the three-day tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Austin Zweifel enjoyed a big start to his senior season.
A night after scoring a goal during a loss to Homer, Zweifel found the net twice in a 3-3 tie against Soldotna during the second day of the tourney
Noah Gillespie also scored for Houston.
Host Homer skated to a 5-2 victory over the Hawks Thursday night.
The loss and tie marked the first two games of the season for the Hawks.
