Clemons, a senior quarterback for the Hawks, was named the conference's offensive player of the year. Clemons was among the state's leaders in passing throwing for 1,053 yards and 13 touchdowns during the regular season.
Clemons helped lead the Hawks to their first ever Greatland Conference title and a spot in the state 3A playoffs.
Clemons was also named first team defense for his play in the defensive backfield.
Richey earned first team honors at three positions. The junior triple-threat caught 33 passes for 551 yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season. Richey also saw time a quarterback, was a starter in the defensive backfield and a constant threat in the return game.
"Some kids really got what they deserved," Houston head coach Mat Bredberg said. "It is good for them to get the recognition. There were some surprises. "
Pleasant surprises that Bredberg noted were J.D. Welch earning first team honors at center and freshman Chris Minsch garnering second team honors at tackle as only a freshman.
Cody Redford also earned double first team honors, as both an outside linebacker and utility
player.
D.J. Sandidge was named first team tight end.
