HOUSTON — The Houston Hawks scored impressive win over Southcentral Conference power Kodiak Wednesday.
Cody Buntin pitched a complete game to lead the Hawks to the 6-5 victory. Jace Taylor led the Hawks at the plate, finishing 3 for 3 with a pair of runs driven in. Lane Taylor was 2 for 3. Both Jace and Lane Taylor finished with a double.
Jaden Sears added two RBI.
Houston jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, and led 4-1 after the third. The Hawks also killed a late Bears rally. Kodiak scored two runs in the fifth and the sixth, but settled for the one-run loss.
Monday, Houston’s nine-run fourth inning highlighted a 16-3 victory over Palmer. Devon Elson fanned 10 Palmer batters during his complete-game effort. Elson was also 4 for 4 at the plate. Sears and Mitchell Ruta had three hits each.
Sears drove in four runs, and Ruta had three RBI.
Adam Christiansen and Daniel Jackson each drove in runs for the Moose.
