WASILLA — The Houston Hawks make the trip to Fairbanks this week to open their Aurora Conference slate Friday at Monroe Catholic, and the Hawks are hoping to bring some momentum created by another lopsided win.
A week after blanking Eagle River 34-0 at home, Houston rolled to a 40-6 win over Voznesenka Aug. 27 in Homer.
Five different Hawks factored into the scoring to help Houston improve to 2-1 overall.
Terry Hershman led the Hawks with a touchdown catch and a touchdown run. Silas Ross also had a touchdown catch in the win. Hershman had five catches for 77 yards, while Ross finished with three catches for 85 yards in the win.
The Hawks also scored four times on the ground. Ben Pelesasa finished with 34 yards rushing and two scores. Vanu Mose led Houston with 54 yards rushing, and added a touchdown.
The Hawks finished with 184 yards rushing and 176 on the ground.
