WASILLA — A big third quarter turned a close game into a road win for Houston.
The Hawks used a 19-9 third-quarter run to score a 59-44 victory over Nikiski Thursday night at Nikiski High School.
Houston’s Kade Taylor scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the second half, and 10 of Houston’s 19 third-quarter points. It’s the second straight game in which Taylor enjoyed a big second half. Taylor scored 29 second-half points during a loss to Anchorage Christian School on Tuesday.

Houston trailed 30-28 at halftime, but led 47-35 after three quarters.
The Houston girls suffered a 44-23 loss to host Nikiski earlier Thursday evening. Houston was held to only three points in both the first and third quarters. Laci Holms led Houston with eight points.
