WASILLA — The Houston Hawks split a pair of Mid-Alaska Conference games with Juneau-Douglas earlier this week.
The Hawks earned their first MAC win of the year, with a 2-1 victory over Juneau on Monday.
Jon Olson gave Houston the lead, scoring with 40 seconds left in the first period.
After Bill Holbrook tied the score at 1-1 in the second, Lane Styers supplied the game-winner for the Hawks with 8:46 left in regulation.
Houston goalie Ben Barenburg stopped 22 of the 23 Crimson Bear shots he saw.
On Tuesday, four different players scored to lead Juneau to a 4-1 win over Houston.
Kody Conner supplied the lone goal, a third-period tally, for Houston.
Barenburg made 24 saves.
