HOUSTON — Sparked by first and third-quarter runs, the Houston Hawks scored their second straight victory with a 43-31 win over Delta at Houston High Friday afternoon.
Five different Hawks scored during an 11-5 first-quarter run, and senior Charlie Buzby posted five of his nine points during Houston’s 12-point third quarter. Matt Barron scored a game-high 12 points in the victory. Buzby, Mitchell Ruta and Jace Taylor added nine each.
In girls’ action, Savannah Wells scored a team-high 16 points, but Delta held on for a 53-41 win over Houston. Wells scored 12 of her 16 in the first half.
